Our Veterans that serve our country head away from their families and everything they know to protect our freedom. They do this selflessly to ensure that our nation is safe. What no one talks about is that they leave behind their, NORMAL.
USVSD aims to help veteran find their new normal. Our dogs help veterans cope with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, and other invisible wounds of war.
United States Veterans Service Dogs was created for and is dedicated to helping veterans return to a new “Normal” by training and placing quality service dogs with veterans. These specially trained dogs provide support to mitigate the effects of mental and physical disabilities.
With a focus on training quality service dogs to help veterans reintegrate into society and find their new normal, we have successfully placed numerous dogs with veterans. Our comprehensive program is built on evidence-based practices to ensure effective and lasting partnerships.
USVSD's mission extends beyond simple companionship; our dogs are trained to perform specific tasks that mitigate the effects of physical and mental disabilities. This includes assisting with mobility, retrieving items, and providing emotional support during stressful situations with pressure therapy and crowd mitigation.
We also offer opportunities for volunteers to become involved in our mission. Volunteers play a crucial role in the development of fundraising opportunities and training of our service dogs. This collaborative effort helps ensure that every veteran receives a well-trained, reliable companion.
We are proud to collaborate with organizations that share our commitment to supporting Veterans.
